Job Summary

The Veterinary Technician is responsible for assisting veterinarians in the treatment and management of poultry health. They help ensure that all birds are healthy, disease-free, and producing optimally. They also participate in disease prevention programs, disease surveillance, and biosecurity audits.

Key Responsibilities

Perform regular health assessments on the poultry to identify early signs of illness or injury.
Collect samples (e.g., blood) for laboratory testing to diagnose diseases
Collect samples (e.g., environmental swab, water) for microbiological testing.
Conduct routine audit in production (e.g., farms, hatcheries, feed mills)
Provide veterinary support in the absence of veterinarian.
Assess whether the birds are condemnable.

Qualification

Graduate of Veterinary Technology, Animal Science or related courses, Non-Licensed Veterinarian.
Background in Poultry Management and/or Veterinary Diagnostic procedures is an advantage.
With Driver's license and can drive both Manual and Automatic vehicles.
Capable of communicating to all levels in the organization and able to express ideas clearly.
Ability to work under pressure, especially during disease outbreaks or emergencies.

Capable of utilizing various tools in problem solving.
Understands and aware of Environment, Health and Safety rules and regulations of each organization.
